Saw Sandrat Thaw is sitting on car tires are used for cremation, after returning from his grandmother's funeral. During the photographer's, Sunday Htoo, three week stay in the camp two people, including her grandmother. The other death was a young mother who died after giving birth.

At the camps there are two or three deaths per month, but there was one occassion where five people died in one month. There are between 28 and 32 births each month.

In Htam Hin the majority of the camp's poppulation is Christian. When they were in their villages in Burma, after death the bodies were buried. But, they are not allowed here, so they are cremated.
